BLOOM // Otto table

Bloom a été fondée par la volonté de 4 papas à apporter une innovation significative et un design contemporain à une gamme de produits pour bébés, traditionnellement fonctionnels mais plus en phase avec les parents d’aujourd’hui. Parmi leur collection, la table Otto est complétée par deux chaises qui se rangent en dessous et ainsi ne forment plus qu’une seule pièce. Intéressant.

Bloom was founded by four dads wanting to bring meaningful innovation and contemporary design to range of baby products that has traditionally been functional but not in tune with the parents today. Among their collection, the Otto table is completed by two chairs that fit underneath and then make one piece of furniture. Interesting.

Coraline, conte noir de Neil Gaiman, a souvent été comparé à l’Alice aux Pays des Merveilles de Lewis Carroll par son surréalisme et intrigue montée dans une réalité alternative. L’adaptation en long-métrage d’animation réalisée par Henry Selick (L’étrange Noël de Mr. Jack) sort le 6 Février (21 Octobre en France…).

Coraline, horror novella by Neil Gaiman, has often been compared to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland because of its surrealism and plot based in an alternate-reality. Its animated full-length trailer adaptation directed by Henry Selick (Nightmares before Christmas) comes out on February 6 (October 21 in France…).

Gestalten vient d’annoncer la sortie de nouvelles publications au printemps parmi lesquelles Play All Day – Design for Children « qui regroupe les produits design et concepts pour enfants les plus palpitants, excitants et promettants. » Disponible en Mars 2009 (Europe & Asie) et Avril 2009 (Amérique du Nord), mais nous en reparlerons ici…

Gestalten has just announced new titles coming out this spring including Play All Day – Design for Children « that documents a collection of the most vibrant, stimulating and engaging design products and concepts for children. » Available in March 2009 (Europe & Asia) and April 2009 (North America), but we will talk about it again here…

KODU // new visual programming language for kids

Microsoft vient de présenter Kodu, à l’occasion du CES (Consumer Electronics Show), un nouveau langage de programmation visuelle avec lequel les enfants vont pouvoir créer de nouveaux jeux et ensuite y jouer avec leurs amis. Le langage semble simple et intuitif, entièrement basé sur des icônes, et fonctionne sur XBOX 360 et PC… bien entendu. Disponible au printemps.

Microsoft has presented Kodu, during the CES (Consumer Electronics Show), a new visual programming language with which kids get to create new games for themselves and then play it with their friends. The language seems to be simple and intuitive, entirely icon-based, and runs on XBOX 360 and PC… of course. Available this spring.
