GREENPLAY by JOE FIACCHINO for SKYLINE DESIGN // green furniture for kids environments

Greenplay est une ligne de meubles pour les espaces intérieurs dédiés aux enfants, comme les écoles ou crèches. Le fabricant Skyline Design s’est engagé à présenter de nouveaux produits à la communauté Architecture et Design en choisissant des matériaux et des procédés de fabrication respectueux de l’environnement. Et cerise sur la gâteau, Skyline accepte les retours d’éléments ou meubles entiers d’occasion pour en faire don.

Greenplay is a line of furnishings for children’s interior environments, as schools or daycare settings. The manufacturer Skyline Design has made the commitment to introducing new products to the Architecture and Design community with their use of environmentally friendly materials and the processes to fabricate them. And to top it off, Skyline accepts returns of used components or whole pieces to be donated.

METROCS TOKYO METROPOLITAN GALLERY // carton furniture series for kids

Alors qu’il organisait une rétrospective du travail de Riki Watanabe, le revendeur Metrocs de Tokyo-Sapporo a relancé en 2005 quelques-unes de ses créations en production, dont sa Carton Furniture Series. Et parmi elle, Kid’s Set, un kit de mobilier en carton pour enfants contenant une table carrée et deux tabourets qui se glissent dessus.

While organizing a retrospective of Riki Watanabe‘s work, the Tokyo-Sapporo retailer Metrocs launched in 2005 several of his designs back in production, including his Carton Furniture Series. And among this, Kid’s Set, a set of carboard furniture for kids that contains a square table and two stools which slide right under it.

H²O ARCHITECTS // multiple-use furniture for kids room

Nouveau défi relevé par les H²O architectes : « L’arrivée d’un nouvel enfant dans la famille a amené un jeune couple à réfléchir au moyen de diviser une pièce en deux. L’idée était que chacun des enfants ait son espace personnel. Le projet a répondu à cette demande de séparation en ajoutant un troisième espace formant la cloison. La création d’un « meuble multi-fonctions » au centre de l’espace permet d’ajouter des profondeurs à la cloison de base. Il offre passages, rangements secrets, lit, bureau, etc, de façon ludique… ». Ca vous donne des idées ?

H²O architects took up a new challenge : « The arrival of a new child in the family pressed a young couple to think about a way to divide a room into two parts. The idea was to provide a personal space to each child. The project answers to this request of separation by adding a third space making the partition. The creation of a “multiple-use furniture” in the middle of the space allows to add some depth to the primary basic partition. It afford passages, secret storage, bed, office, etc, in a funny way… » Excellent ! Does it give you ideas ?

BABYCOTPOD by SHAUN MILBURN // modern and futuristic carrycots

Les lits et couffins pour bébés Babycotpod sont en cours de développement et devraient être disponibles à la fin de l’année ’09. Shaun Milburn et son équipe continue de développer leur gamme et sont à la recherche de partenaires ou investisseurs pour amener le concept sur le marché. Deux modèles pour le moment : Cascara, le haut de gamme avec capote intégrée et poignée rétractable, et Cuba plus économique. Toutes les infos ici.

Babycotpod cots and bassinets for babies are currently in development and should be available at the end of the year ’09. Shaun Milburn and his team continue to develop their product range and seek partners or investors to help bring the concept to retail.
