GREENPLAY by JOE FIACCHINO for SKYLINE DESIGN // green furniture for kids environments

Greenplay est une ligne de meubles pour les espaces intérieurs dédiés aux enfants, comme les écoles ou crèches. Le fabricant Skyline Design s’est engagé à présenter de nouveaux produits à la communauté Architecture et Design en choisissant des matériaux et des procédés de fabrication respectueux de l’environnement. Et cerise sur la gâteau, Skyline accepte les retours d’éléments ou meubles entiers d’occasion pour en faire don.

Greenplay is a line of furnishings for children’s interior environments, as schools or daycare settings. The manufacturer Skyline Design has made the commitment to introducing new products to the Architecture and Design community with their use of environmentally friendly materials and the processes to fabricate them. And to top it off, Skyline accepts returns of used components or whole pieces to be donated.

Présenté à Milan 2008, ce prototype de couffin pour nouveau-né, conçu par Britta Teleman, est fait à partir de matériaux durables, bio et recyclables. Il est léger, pratique, sûr et… beau ! Espérons que ce lit pour bébés soit disponible bientôt.

Presented in Milan 2008, this prototype of moses basket for newborn baby, designed by Britta Teleman, is made from sustainable, organic and recycled materials. It is light-weight, convenient, safe and… nice ! Let’s hope that this babies bed is available soon.

Fabriqués à partir de feutre industriel, ces « Pouch Pals » (trad. « Amis de Poche ») ont la taille idéale pour ranger jouets, chaussettes ou autres ! Le feutre est une superbe matière, non ? Now (for kids) se demande donc pourquoi ce textile n’est pas plus employé dans le design pour enfants ?

Made from industrial grade felt, these Pouch Pals have the perfect size to hold toys, socks or something else ! Wool felt is a really nice material, no ? Now (for kids) thus wonders why this textile is not used more in design for kids ?

ACME WORLD ZOO // the kütelight, lighting for children

Acme World Zoo, un studio de design basé à Brooklyn, vient de présenter sa nouvelle collection de lampes pour enfants au salon Bubble de New-York. La Kütelight est une boîte en métal de 30×30 cm qui fonctionne avec de l’éco-énergie et illumine l’espace à travers des découpes d’animaux. Plus, 5% des ventes vont à la SPA Barc de Brooklyn. Jolie, non ?

Acme World Zoo, a Brooklyn-based design studio, has shown their new collection of lights for kids during the Bubble Trade Show in New-York. The Kütelight is a metal box around 30×30 cm that works on eco-energy and illuminates the space through animal cutouts. Plus, 5% of all sales go to the Brooklyn based animal shelter Barc. Nice, isn’t it ?
